A message from Troy Cono - Founder of the FREE MUSIC REVOLUTION:

What does it mean?

The Free Music Revolution is my promise to you that, for as long as the powers that be will allow, I shall not charge you to listen to, download, share, distribute, or cover any recording to which I own the copyright, publishing rights, and/or songwriting credits.  This may or may not apply to full length album releases, or collections including multiple songs.  It may, on occasion, be necessary for me, or any affiliated entity,  to charge what should be considered a reasonable amount for such collections, based on printing, duplication, and shipping expenses incurred.  As a result of this generous offer, donations are always welcome, and the purchase of merchandise and related marketing materials is highly encouraged in order to help keep the Revolution alive!  For more information on how to make a donation, see the "Donations" section below.  For information on how to purchase Troy Cono, or Free Music Revolution Merchandise, go to: www.troycono.com/merch.htm

Why?

Less than 2% of every song written ever gets heard by more than 100 people.  Now, I know first hand that a lot of them suck, but I also know that some of the greatest songs ever written would fall into that category, too.  How different would music be, and in turn, the world today, if the other 98% of those songs had been heard?

As any true artist would tell you, "I am not in this for the money."  First and foremost, I am a songwriter.  That being said, what's a songwriter or a song without an audience?  The most important thing in the world to me is that people everywhere get the opportunity to hear my songs.  Regardless of whether or not you can afford to purchase my songs, or if maybe you think music should always be free, or if you download free music to "screw the labels", whatever the case may be, I just want you to listen to what I have to say.  I do not care if you dislike my music.  I would rather you hear it and hate it, than never to have listened at all because of money.

How can I get involved?

Support your local artists.  Believe that the greatest song you have ever heard is not currently being played on any radio station in the world.  Attempt to seek out music that you've never heard before, by artists you've never heard of.  By making a contribution in some way, you will help ensure that the Free Music Revolution is here to stay.  Whether it be by making a donation, purchasing merchandise, telling a friend about it, encouraging your favorite band or artist to take part themselves by giving away their music, or simply by doing something good for another soul in the name of Free Music, it is up to you to spread the word and make this dream a reality.  I truly believe that most songwriters, painters, musicians, sculptors, photographers, etc, agree with the premise behind this movement, and that if you, the audience, participate by admiring their work, everybody wins.  You want free music, I want to be heard, done deal!  Get Involved Today!

Instant Downloads:

I am pleased to announce that instant downloads are available now through my "Music" page, and best of all, they are all 100% FREE.  As previously stated, sometimes the powers that be make it impossible not to charge a "bare minimum" for certain music services.  Fortunately, Instant Downloads are NO LONGER one of these types of services.  To start downloading 100% FREE, high quality .MP3 files of any Troy Cono song now, go to http://www.troycono.com/music.  P.S. - You will need a .zip file decoder, such as WinZip or WinRar (both of which can be downloaded free through download.com) in order to open the downloaded file(s).  For more information about working with .zip files, go to:  http://www.tech-pro.net/howto_030.html
